Papercraft Chibis

(I did start this on Thursday but time ran out so I finished it on Friday morning.)

Me: Wow. I am getting really bad at either remembering to do these or getting distracted and never getting around to them. Last week, I was going to finish one I had started when I got home, but when I got home, I forgot.

Drel: At least you didn't use the 'school' excuse again.

Me: ...that's a very viable excuse. School can be hard! No, scratch that, it just takes up all my time.

Sage: Ignore Drel. He's been in an annoy mood all day.

Drel: Not my fault.

Sage: Hmm...well that is somewhat true.

Me: ...are you blaming me again?

Drel: Yes.

Me: Why? What did I do this time?!

Drel: *doesn't answer and goes back to reading a book*

Sage: He didn't like the daydream that you had this morning.

Me: ...oh...well that makes since.

Ren: ...everyone is wondering what the daydream was.

Me: Well...um, I can't say.

Naem: Then why even bring it up in the first place?!

Me: Sorry.... I'll just say that someone dies but that's it....

Ren: Someone Drel knew?

Sage: Yep.

Drel: *still reading a book, pretending not be listening to the conversation*

Me: *cough, cough* We might want to change the topic before something bad happens.

Sage: And you don't have a topic do you?

Me: ...no...and I didn't even write that much last week so it wouldn't be worth it to post what I wrote. *sighs* I can't think of anything to write.

Sage: What about what you were doing just a bit ago?

Me: Oh! Good idea! I was working on a small little thing that I heard about...somehow...actually, I don't know how I heard about it. They're these little projects called papercraft chibis. Here is one that I actually designed myself. :)

Me: It took me about three hours to design this...crazy right? Well I was basing it off of this picture of one of my characters:

Sage: ...wow...Daisuke looks very goth there...

Me: Yeah...but he's supposed to. He's a little misunderstood but the way he dresses doesn't help people's opinions of him. I'm getting off topic again. So that little thing I made is a template for a papercraft chibi. All you do is print it out and cut out the shapes. Then you fold and glue them together to make the chibi. Here is a picture of Daisuke when I completed him:

Me: I didn't mean for the bangs to cover over his eyes, but oh well. Can't fix that. ...actually, I could if I wanted to use the exacto knife to cut the hair differently, but that would have risk of ruining him so I don't think I want to do that.

Sage: So, assuming that you made one of Daisuke, you probably have one for a few of your other characters.

Me: Yup. :) But so far only you, and one other. I'll have to make one for Drel and that will take a long time.... Yeah...a very long time. All the little details, and I have no idea how I'm going to do your hair...oh well, I'll figure that out later.

Sage: She's made 21 of these little things and they're all sitting on her short bookshelf.

Me: I had them on my desk for awhile but they started invading the space so I had to move them. XP The most recent one would be Fluttershy but she was very trick and I lost one of her ears and accidentally threw away her wings and tail...so, she's basically just a cute girl with pink hair and wearing a pink dress.

Drel: The pieces are so small I'm surprised you haven't lost more.

Me: I usually assemble them on my desk and stay in one place so that I don't loose them. But I brought fluttershy's template to Legacy and cut it out there in one of my classes because my teacher allowed me to. The problem was, class was over before I started gluing the pieces together so I had to leave class to go to the table I usually sat at. Oh well, she's cute anyways. :)

Sage: So I'm guessing that one day you're going to make one for almost all of your characters.

Me: Yep! It's a fun little project. :) They're mostly all from anime though, so a lot of my friends don't know who they are which is a bummer...but I made Princess Peach from Mario and Link from the Legend of Zelda games.

Drel: And four different versions/sizes of Loki, one of which you gave to your friend.

Me: Yep. One is big, one is medium and the other one is really small. Small meaning about an inch and a half tall. Maybe a bit taller. Their typically two and a half inches tall but the big Loki is about five or so inches tall. XP

Sage: Then she made all the main characters from Ouran Host Club including three of Daisuke (two are larger sizes and she also has a version of him where he is wearing the Ouran uniform), Death the Kid (from Soul Eater), Tomoe (from Kamisama Kiss), Namine (from Kingdom Hearts), Lightning (from Final Fantasy), Izaya (from Durarara), and the others you know about.

Me: I should also mention that the templates I used for these characters I did not make myself. I only assembled the chibis. Many of them I found on Google Images or Deviantart.com. Except for Daisuke, I didn't design any of them.

Drel: Even with all the papercraft chibis that she's made, she has about twenty or so more ready to be cut out and made.

Me: Yep! They're so much fun! Even though it takes me about an hour to make one of them... :P I would post more pictures of the ones I've made, but my camera's battery just died so, sorry about that.

Sage: The battery seems to die a lot.

Me: That's because when I use it, I use it for a long time. :P Well! That's long enough for a decent post. :) I'm glad I was able to find something to talk about.

Sage: You're welcome...

Me: Ok fine, Sage thought of the topic but it doesn't matter. Hope you guys found this interest. Sorry for not posting in such a long while. I'll try to get back into the habit again. So until next time! Bye!

The Queen's Legacy

Me: I really need to get to writing...I haven't written all week because of school.

Drel: Of course...

Me: Hey! I mean it! I had to write two essays!

Drel: Two very short essays.

Me: I was also sick from Friday-Monday and I can only write a tiny bit when I'm sick so I didn't get much done.

Sage: So what are you going to do for this weeks blog post?

Me: Hmm...I'll probably just post a small scene that I wrote while ago for fun. Which one I don't know yet...hmm...have I posted the one I wrote based off of a picture?

Ren: No, I don't believe you have.

Me: Alrighty then! I'll post that one. Here is the picture that I based the entire story off of:

The Queen’s Legacy
The starless sky stared down at the large futuristic city of Authrent like a puddle black ink. Colorless and cheerless, it stretched on as far as anyone could see but vague outlines of spherical planets could be clearly made out if one was familiar with the area. In daylight the large planets could be seen clearly and it only took about an hour to reach it by a spacecraft. There were three large planets and they seemed to be practically in the same atmosphere as the world the people currently inhabited. Long ago, there used to be five planets that were nearby but one had been destroyed by disease and gradually crumbled away while the other had been home to a hostile species and for their own safety, the military of Authrent, (the largest city in the world of Grentrix as it spanned a third of the planet) created a special weapon that dissolved the planet and killed off the threat. For years, they perfected this weapon as technology had continued to grow more advanced and other planets knew that Grentrix was not a world to be messed with. The people of Grentrix lived in peace knowing that they wouldn’t be threatened and in Authrent the people were completely ignorant of the problem about to arrive.
~~
Soft yellow light from the windows set a glow on the surrounding buildings. A soft muffled noise of chatter was audible from outside the luxurious building but there was no one outside to hear it at this late hour for it was practically five in the morning. The large ‘mansion’ as some would call it was a pure white color unlike the other grey buildings and had been renovated and added to frequently. Multiple balconies stretched out over the cliff on which it was sitting and small pairings of people tended to inhabit these quiet balconies while inside, the party was filled with chatter and music. A young man was standing by a window that gazed out at the large grey expanse of city and he seemed to be completely lost in his thoughts. His foot rested on the low windowsill and he was leaning forward on it, his elbow resting on his knee while his palm supported his chin. He didn’t move and if he wasn’t breathing, it would have been easy for someone to mistake him as a statue. His long brown coat that dropped to his knees was far less formal than what the majority of the other men were wearing but it did have subtle gold patterning along the hem and sleeves. He wasn’t the only underdressed person in the room, and there were quite a few but it seemed to be preferred to come expensively dressed. The man’s dark brown pants and pale cream colored dress shirt didn’t make him look any more formal. His face held an expression of disappointment and for a while he just stared out the window not flinching as the wind from the balcony doors swept in and stirred up his coat. The party began to quiet down a bit as the patrons were getting tired and a few even dozed off on the couches without meaning to. The young man let out a soft sigh and was about to step away from the window when a small figure caught his eye. His eyes widened slightly as the cloaked figure drew closer and he quickly went to the door of the house.
“Mira, what are you doing here?” He asked in surprise as she stepped up to the door.
“We need to talk, Darren.” She said quietly, pulling the cape tighter around her.
Mira was wearing a pale sky blue dress and a small wrap lightly hung around her shoulders. She stepped into the house with him and glanced around at the people.
“I have something to tell you.”
“What is it?” He asked, tilting his head slightly and noticing the mournful look in Mira’s eyes.
“Can we go somewhere more private?” She asked softly, her eyes resting on the floor.
Darren glanced around, trying to think of a place where they wouldn’t be over heard.
“Uh, sure…” he said, confused by her actions.
He slowly led her around the building to a small balcony and closed the glass doors behind them. Small pink flowers lined the edge and the light from inside bathed the balcony in a toasty glow. Darren walked Mira as she walked over to the waist high railing and slowly came up next to her.
“Is something wrong?” He asked quietly after a long pause.
Mira let out a soft sigh and looked out into the black abyss, her dark blond hair almost glowing from the indoor light.
“Do you know of Delvon?” She asked softly.
Darren glanced out into the distance.
“Of course. It’s the planet closest to us. I can see it right now actually.” He said, pointing at a large planet that seemed to be hovering just beyond the farthest building they could see. “It’s been there for as long as I can remember.”
Mira smiled slightly and nodded.
“Yes, it has…it’s been around for almost three hundred years actually.” She said her voice soft.
Darren glanced at her.
“Is something wrong with it?” He asked, studying her face carefully. “Why did you suddenly bring it up?”
Mira still gazed out at the view without answering his question.
“Have you ever heard of the tale about it?” She asked. “The one with the queen and the magic?”
Darren frowned slightly and glanced at the planet thinking.
“I don’t believe I have.”
Mira smiled slightly and glanced down at the long drop off below them.
“Not many have…it was told for many years. At the beginning of Delvon a lovely queen ruled over the planet. She was very kind but also very firm in her ruling. The people adored her but her uncle was very jealous. He didn’t want to be king like some would think; he wanted to destroy Delvon because he’d heard rumors that there was powerful magic in the center of the planet. No one would agree to help him because they were happy with the queen’s rule even though she was a mere teenager at the time. Her loyal subjects informed her of his plans and she agreed to have a meeting with him to see what he wished. Her uncle expressed his desire but she saw the greed in his heart and refused to help him. Secretly, he began stealing money and supplies from the queen to aid in his project of reaching the center of Delvon. It took a number of years before he finally discovered a large hollow cave at the planet’s core. The queen had heard about this and knew that he would only use the magic to please himself and horrible things could come of it. Going alone, she traveled down to the center of Delvon and confronted her uncle. Her uncle had been drive mad with greed and did not listen to her pleading. There was a small pool where the magic was in liquid form and the queen stepped in front of it begging him to let it go and come up to the surface with her. He was only infuriated by this and stabbed his sword into her heart. The young queen fell backward into the pool and sunk into the magic. Her uncle was horrified by what he’d done and ended his own life right there. Neither of them had known that the magic was alive. As the queen’s blood spread out into the magic water, the power of the magic did something miraculous. Knowing the queen’s kindness and love for Delvon, it replaced her blood with magic and carried her back to the surface of the planet, bring her to life again. The queen was now tied to the planet and as long as it thrived and survived, so would her bloodline.”
Mira finished the tale and Darren had listened quietly the entire time.  He was a little confused why she had explained all of that to him. Mira was usually very light spirited and happy but now she seemed to be sad and depressed.
“Mira, what’s bothering you?” He asked, turning to face her.
Mira finally glanced up at him.
“That story is true, Darren.” She said very softly. “I know that people don’t believe in magic anymore but it still exists and I’m one of the living bloodlines of the queen. Her name was Queen Adrena.”
Darren was speechless and stared at her for a long moment. The sun was slowly beginning to rise and the inky sky slowly began disappearing away as if it was sliding down a drain.
“So…you’re a princess?” He said in surprise.
“Not anymore. Delvon is now ruled by a president and I ran away to Authrent when I was young but I’m still connected to Delvon…which is why…” Mira trailed off for a short while. “Which is why I can feel what’s happening to it.”
Darren opened his mouth to ask what she was talking about but as the sky began to grow lighter and it’s bright rays feel on Delvon, he saw what she meant. Small pieces of the planet were slowly floating away from it. They were glowing electric blue and looked like they were being blow away by some strong wind. Darren’s eyes widened.
“What’s going on?” He asked in shock.
“The Authrent military released their special weapon in Delvon and its destroying it. They heard a few tiny rumors of a secret invasion and attacked without waiting to clarify if they were true.” She said, her eyes looking deep into his. “Delvon is dying. See how the pieces are blue and fade away? That’s the magic of Delvon evaporating.”
“That’s horrible…” Darren said, watching. “Wait a minute…if you’re connected to Delvon…d-does that mean.”
Mira closed her eyes and slowly reached up, untying the cape from around her shoulders and letting it drop to the floor. Just like the planet, the edge of her dress was glowing electric blue and small pieces, looking almost like a computer chip, floated up and away from her dress slowly fading into thin air. Darren’s eyes widened in horror as he saw this.
“Everything the sunlight touches eventually breaks apart and disappears.” She said softly.
Darren suddenly felt a rush of panic as the sunlight began to stretch across the sky.
“N-no!” He said. “This can’t be happening.”
Without really thinking he put his arms around Mira as if to hide her from the light. Mira closed her eyes, resting her hands on his chest and leaning against him.
“I’m sorry Darren.” She said quietly.
Darren couldn’t see it, but Mira’s shoe at already fallen off and broken off into small pieces that were slowly blown into the air before disappearing into nothing. Once her shoe was gone, glowing blue cracks began showing on her foot and piece by piece it began chipping off and fading away. Darren slowly came to realize that there was absolutely nothing he could do so he just held her tightly.
“Does it hurt?” He asked softly as he glanced down and watched the edge of her dress continue to break off and disappear.
“No.” Mira said. “It just feels like I’m getting weaker.”
Mira seemed to be surprisingly calm as she accepted the fact that she was going to fade away without any way of stopping it. Darren on the other hand, wasn’t calm and had begun shaking slightly.
“B-but…you can’t…” He was unable to complete his sentence.
“Die? Darren, there’s no way of stopping it now. I’ve been searching for weeks but there is nothing I can do.”
Darren was practically holding her up as bits of her toes slowly began to flake off and disappear, soon leaving just her heal left. He was too shocked to even think about crying and he put a hand to the back of her head, closing his eyes. A small breeze blew by and her dress stirred up around her, seeming to break off and disappear even faster. Strands of her air were glowing blue and slowly flaking off into the air. Darren’s arm wrapped tighter around her waist and he pressed his cheek against the side of her head. He was able to feel her growing weaker and weaker in his arms and he wished that the sun would disappear again. The electric blue cracks were up to her knees and he was completely holding her up now. Mira’s breath was calm but every now and then she would completely stop breathing and Darren almost began to panic. She closed her eyes and leaned her head back against his hand, letting out a shaky sigh.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t you to see this.” She said quietly.
“You wouldn’t want to…fade away alone, would you?”
Mira let a small smile cross her face but she didn’t open her eyes.
“No…I suppose I wouldn’t.” She said softly.
There was a long pause and as the sun got higher, the faster she began to chip apart and vanish into the air. Darren let out a gasp as her waist suddenly crumbled away, leaving him almost nothing to hold. Her hands were still tucked in between them, pressed against his chest. There were no words he could think of to say that would help so they both just remained silent. After a moment, he realized that he didn’t need to hold her up anymore because she simply was suspended in the air. Her hands touched his face and he could feel the thin cracks along them.
“Thank you, Darren. You were a good friend.” She said her voice very soft.
He was no longer able to touch her and as he opened her eyes, he saw the small lines cross her face. A small smile was resting lightly on her lips and she leaned forward, pressing them to his forehead.
“Goodbye.” She whispered, her voice sounding more like an echo.
Darren closed his eyes letting a small tear roll down his cheek. When his eyes opened, Mira was gone.

The End
Me: I don't know how good that was because I haven't re-read it yet. Well I'm going to go now. Later!
